A few weeks ago we turned the clocks forward by one hour. We affectionately call this daylight savings time. It is also a clear sign that winter is coming to an end and spring is about to arrive.

The weather in the part of the country that I live in is unpredictable this time of year. There is a saying that if you don’t like the weather wait ten minutes and it will change.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had temperatures reach 16 degrees celsius on the positive side and -16 degrees on the negative side. How’s that for extremes – a 32-degree temperature swing.

Even though the bird feeder has been busier than usual the last few weeks it would seem winter is not ready to leave just yet. But like I said a few weeks back we are on the warm side of winter. In about 4 weeks time I will be mowing the lawn – ugh!
