Time is of the essence today as they say so I need to get these thoughts out quickly.

Every (well almost) Saturday morning I get up early to go and workout. During the week I workout in the evenings, but Saturday I haul my butt out of bed early to punish myself.

Today was no different. The club that I workout at is open at 7:00 am and I arrive at 6:45 am and help the owner set up for the day. However today one of the staff was opening as the owner was away.

7:00 came and went. I patiently waited and other members started to arrive and ask me what was up. Long story short the studio did not open till 7:35 am. I was texting back and forth with the owner as we are good friends and he was not impressed.

But this brings me to the point of what I want to talk about. The intent of this morning was one of the staff was to open up the studio like any other Saturday. The impact though of that not happening on time was not good. Members were left to wait, some left as they had to go to work, while others were wondering what was going on.

The intention this morning was not to cause confusion, anger or inconvenience; however, the impact was just that. We need to empathise with the person who was late in openingĀ the studio, but also helpĀ them realise that their actions had direct impacts.

Yes, I managed to get my normal workout in and for the most part my day is back on track.
