If you were around in the 80’s, then you know who Gary Larson is. In fact you either loved him or not so much. He was the creator of The Far Side – a single pane cartoon comic.
Gary retired in 1995 after 15 years and having been syndicated in over 1900 newspapers – remember those. Fast forward 25 years and he is back with an official website and some new material.
This is awesome/amazing and the story behind why he decided to come out of retirement is cool too.
Truthfully, I still have some ambivalence about officially entering the online world — I previously equated it to a rabbit hole, although “black hole” sometimes seems more apropos — but my change of heart on this has been due not only to some evolution in my own thinking, but also in two areas I’ve always cared about when it comes to this computer/Internet “stuff”: security and graphics.
The Far Side was my favourite comic strip back in the day and I cannot tell you how happy I was to find out that Gary was back.
