I wrote a post a few days ago about the book Miracles. I came across another chapter which briefly tells the story of how Horatio G. Spafford came to pen the well-known hymn “When Peace Like a River/It is Well with my Soul”.
As human beings, we all have a certain amount of capacity. How much work we can do, ability to help others, focusing on oneself, etc. Sometimes though I think we have trouble understanding our limits and how much capacity we really have.
Been reading through the book Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss for the last few weeks. I purchased the book over Christmas with the intent of reading it through. However, a blog/vlog that I follow was doing a daily walkthrough so I decided to join in. Continue reading “Tools of Titans”
Eric Metaxas has written a wonderful book called Miracles. I’m almost done but wanted to share some of my thoughts.
I have to admit that when I received this book I thought the discussion would be around healing. That is naturally where most people go when thinking about miracles. There are stories about healing miracles, but not until later in the book. Continue reading “Miracles”
As early as I can remember I was always fit and active. As a youth, I played both soccer and baseball and did so well into my teens. All throughout high school I played various sports and always stayed active. Shortly after high school I got married and continued to be active through my work in horticulture, landscaping, and cabinetry. While my sports activities slowed down, my work activities did not.
