Tonight we said goodbye to one of our loved ones. We are headed home after helping them settle into their new city. It has been a great week of doing different things to help them move into their new home.
Came across this the other day – Ornitographies. Now of course you like me – at the time – are wondering just what that is. It is the invisible patterns left by birds in flight. I also love how the artist Xavi Bou’s describes it.
“My intention is to capture the beauty of the bird’s flight in a single moment, making the invisible visible. Ornitographies moves away from the purely scientific practice of Chronophotography that 19th century photographers Eadward Muybridge and Étienne Julies Marey developed. It is the balance between art and science, a project of naturalist discovery, and, at the same time, an exercise of visual poetry.”
The work is stunning, amazing and is hard not to fall in love with right away. I may even purchase a print in the near future. Check this wonderful artist out.
